I’ve done quite a personal, but I hope also practical video about my recent (very unexpected but voluntary!) 5 days back in my local, St Ann’s in Tottenham. (There’s more to Tottenham than the riots…) The staff were so superb, and indeed the patient community so strong and supportive, that it has intensified still further my deep appreciation of inpatient care.
The videoblog, on youtube, is about 18 minutes long, so please do sit down with a nice cup of tea and some very nice colleagues.

Ian Hulatt, Mental Health Lead at the RCN, describes their new video, Mental Health Nursing: Keep it in Mind.
The mental health nursing forum here at the RCN wanted to find a medium to convey not only the diverse ways in which its members work but also attempt to surface the traditionally considered “invisible” way they work as nurses. This DVD attempts by interviewing practising nurses to convey something about who they are and what they do. It is a collection of simple everyday accounts of the very real difference they make in the lives of those they work with, including the experience of a client cared for at times of crisis. Challenging and at times moving this DVD is also available to view on the front page of the RCN website at www.rcn.org.uk
Or you can see it on the Star Wards’ youtube channel:

Here's a video, opportunistically and glamorously filmed while I was in Cuba, about Star Wards. Lots of members have asked for something they can use to introduce Star Wards to staff, patients, visiting Tibetan Terriers....
