RCN film promotes mental health nursing

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Ian Hulatt, Mental Health Lead at the RCN, describes their new video, Mental Health Nursing: Keep it in Mind. The mental  health nursing forum here at the RCN wanted to find a medium to convey not only the diverse ways in  which its members work but also attempt to surface the traditionally considered “invisible” way they work as nurses. This DVD attempts by interviewing practising nurses to convey something about who they are and what they do. It is a collection of simple everyday accounts of the very real difference they make in the lives of those they work with, including the experience of a client cared for at times of crisis. Challenging and at times moving this DVD is also available to view on the front page of the RCN website at www.rcn.org.uk

A micro-summary of what our users have said is that wards who tried Star Wards ideas had:

This is not about us, it is about people like you. These improvements are down to your hard work. And you can check our newsletters for wards doing amazing things right now. So we are told we do help you make a difference – and we want to get better and be here to help you in the future. So, join up, join in and let us know your wonderful ideas – and if you can donate to us or fundraise for us, we would be delighted to hear from you. Thank you for all you do.
